Images of the Vanishing West |
About the PhotographerI grew up at the tail end of the homestead era on the rolling landscape of eastern Wyoming, and the Territory of Alaska. After years of itinerant wandering, I find myself once again tethered to the cusp of the Montana portion of that great wind-shredded, buffalo-trodden, sage hen inhabited prairie. I've always been fascinated with the settlement of the West, which eventually led to a degree in history. Now I find the homesteads, outbuildings and other remanents of that era rapidly giving way to the ravaging forces of time: barns are collapsing, machinery rusts into oblivion, and the wispy grasslands reclaim their turf one seedy stalk at a time. My photographic niche is documenting the anitiquities that remain, thus the logo "Images of the Vanishing West". This website also contains what I would call "pictures of interest" as well. I hope you enjoy grazing your way through the gallery! Your comments, as I continue to hone my craft, are welcome. |
